The only two survivors in the midst of the ancient civilization remaining there are an aged scientist and his daughter. However, lurking in the ruins are ?Monsters from the Id,? a presence that acts to amplify the demons present in the human subconscious. The true secret behind the global popularity of this film is ?Robby the Robot,? a servant who is faithful to his human masters. The designer of this robot, a precursor of many SF characters to come, was Japanese-American Robert Kinoshita, who went on to design the ?B9? robot servant (known as ?Friday? in Japan) that appeared in the Lost in Space TV series.
